The Winning Bid!

IB&T has been awarded the contract to introduce BIM-capable specialist software for the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany. In an EU-wide open tender, our software solution card_1 prevailed over all other competitors.

The tender, commissioned by the Rhineland-Palatinate State Office for Mobility, calls for the implementation of specialist software for BIM-compliant road infrastructure planning at all nine of the state agency's locations. In addition to providing the software itself, the scope of the tender also includes project management, training, services, and development.

The multi-stage bidding process included both weighted performance evaluations based on detailed specifications and a test setup. The bid also required presenting the results of four assessment tasks that graded various functional areas of the software solutions. card_1 scored highly in every part of the process, demonstrating that model-based road planning that takes various BIM use cases into account is optimally achieved with our software solution.

"We are pleased to be able to support the Rhineland-Palatinate State Office for Mobility in its BIM transformation and to train its employees to take on their new project roles within the BIM process," says IB&T Managing Director Uwe Hüttner.

Here in Germany the driving force behind the BIM transformation is the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV), which has also developed the "BIM Federal Highway Master Plan." The goal is to implement the BIM method across the board to guarantee project work on the digital planning, construction, maintenance, and operation of infrastructure routes.
