BIM Training

In our BIM Competence Center, founded in 2019, we offer compact, industry-specific, and software-independent training courses. Training your employees in the correct application of BIM is a crucial step in establishing a fundamental understanding of the BIM methodology within your company. Birgit Sowada and Marius Reuters from our IB&T training team are certified for BIM training through the Professional Certification Foundation – Basic exam/buildingSMART – VDI. 

Our training calendar includes a comprehensive range of courses on card_1 and DESITE BIM/VDC Manager. You can also learn the fundamentals of the BIM methodology through the EDUBIM courses offered by our partner, DEUBIM GmbH. We are also happy to provide you with customised training and development, as well as e-learning options for our card_1 and DESITE BIM/VDC Manager solutions.

Our training programme includes various courses for the VDC Manager. The introductory course, "VDC Manager Basic Knowledge" is aimed at beginners and provides a comprehensive overview of BIM coordination. The "VDC Manager – Expert Knowledge" course helps advanced users optimise and automate their workflows, for example, through rule-based checks. In the "VDC Manager – API/Forms" course, participants learn how to create forms and automate functions using their own programming.

This course is a perfect introduction to working with BIM and card_1. You will learn which points need to be clarified before starting a project and how these requirements can be implemented in card_1 – for example, when creating 3D structures. Furthermore, you will learn how data is exchanged in a 3D BIM model. We will show you the role of attributes in card_1 and their significance for the BIM process. At the end of the course, you will be able to transfer your data into a BIM coordination model. Upon successful completion of the exam, you will receive the "card_1 BIM Modeler" certificate.

This course will introduce you to the application of our smart infra-modeling technology and the new Road Design method based on it. Step by step, you will learn the ‘how-to’, from creating a road with individual adjustments, through shoulder modifications, the creation of junctions and intersections as well as access roads, right through to the use of the smart ConKit (construction kit). This training covers everything you need to know to work with the new design method.

As a partner of DEUBIM GmbH, we offer EDUBIM courses that lead to internationally recognised certificates, independently confirming your BIM competence. In the BIM Professional Certification Foundation course, you will learn the essential fundamentals of the BIM methodology through eight e-learning modules. If you then wish to further your education in BIM coordination or prefer to delve into operational and strategic BIM management, take advantage of the advanced courses BIM Practitioner Coordination or BIM Practitioner Management.

Our e-learning platform offers you even greater flexibility for your professional development. The courses comprise several hours of video material, divided into individual clips. This allows you to take a break at any time or rewatch individual units. The e-learning portal includes introductory courses for working with card_1, as well as advanced training on New Road Design and BIM coordination with DESITE BIM/VDC Manager.
