Updating (Freshup)
The most recent Freshup is required to update the card_1 10.1.
You are automatically informed if a new Freshup is available. If a new version is available, you can view the Freshup details and download the Freshup.
By default, card_1 checks daily for new versions. You can configure the card_1 Updater via the card_1 menu Settings > User Settings > Configure card_1 Updater, e. g. the check interval. You can use the card_1 menu item ? > Check for Freshups to check for new versions manually.
- You cannot use a Freshup to install the card_1 system.
- Updating the card_1 system via Freshup requires a 'base version' to be installed. The base version is the minimum version which must be installed to successfully run the card_1 Freshup. A warning message is displayed should the minimum version not be installed.
- Before running a Freshup, you must shut down card_1 on the relevant workstation. If you are operating card_1 within a network, card_1 must be shut down on all workstations.
The configuration is subject to password protection. The password 'admin_updater' is preset. Once you have entered a new password this password is no longer valid.

- Please start the self-extractor (F_yymmnn.exe; yy = year, mm = month, nn = number) – the Freshup program will display a Welcome dialog box.
- By confirming this dialog box, the Windows system analysis will then start.
- Please enter the path to the card_1 program folder – the card_1 system will then be updated.
- Start the card_1 system.
It is also possible to run the card_1 Freshup in 'silent mode'. The card_1 Freshup then runs in the background without any user interaction. Thus it is possible to integrate the card_1 Freshup into company-internal and scheduled update processes.
As each card_1 installation environment is different you have to prepare the card_1 Freshup for the 'silent mode' (a one-off process). Preparing the card_1 Freshup for the 'silent mode' means generating a response file which contains the responses captured while running the Freshup. You have to create a new response file if the installation environment changes.
-
Please start the current card_1 Freshup using the following command line
f_yymmnn.exe -a -r -f1path to the response file
Example: Starts the card_1 Freshup 04.10/1. The response file to be created is called 'c:\freshup\freshup.iss'.
f_100401.exe -a -r -f1c:\freshup\freshup.iss
- Now run the card_1 Freshup as usual.
-
Please start the current card_1 Freshup in 'silent mode' using the following command line
f_yymmmnn.exe -a -s -f1path to the response file-f2path to the log file
Example: Starts the card_1 Freshup 04.10/1. The response file is called 'c:\freshup\freshup.iss' and the log file is named 'c:\freshup\freshup.log'.
