IB&T GmbH – From Strength to Strength
The producers of the CARD/1 software presented the first fruits of their joint venture with water experts aRES Datensysteme; showed their latest developments, including the generation of plans according to the RE 2012 guidelines; and demonstrated the KorridorFinder – a solution developed by A+S Consult for route assessment and preliminary planning.
As part of the IB&T group’s stand at the trade fair in Essen, aRES Datensysteme demonstrated its specialist application for water supply and drainage – based, for the first time, on the surveying and design software CARD/1. The presentation was a hit – both customers and visitors agreed that the solutions for sewer planning and calculation, damage reporting, evaluation of existing conditions, sewer rehabilitation, pipe design and river engineering were an ideal addition to CARD/1.
Visitors at the CARD/1 presentation were surprised at how uncomplicated and fast plans can be generated according to the new RE 2012 guidelines, made possible by innovative extensions to the CARD/1 system. These innovations will also be useful for other guidelines and standards.
Freely available geodata (WebMapServices) are becoming an integral part of everyday work. Aerial images and topographic data are much in demand and are provided by the land surveying offices of each state. Even land parcel maps or environmental maps provided by Environmental Agencies are part of what’s offered. WebMapServices have been completely integrated into CARD/1, and trade fair visitors could learn about the various functions at demonstrations and via a detailed article in the customer magazine interAktiv 2/2013, issued just in time for the trade fair.
Trams in tubes were a further topic of discussion at the trade fair in Essen. For the first time ever our rail specialists presented the new GEOPAC-Clearance Envelope Module for CARD/1. A so-called 3D envelope is generated for each tram journey which is then saved as a CARD/1 structure. It can be displayed in any view and evaluated for any drawing. The new module will be available shortly and is already aiding many tramlines in German cities in the first phase of the roll-out.
IB&T’s subsidiary RZI Software GmbH was also at the trade fair, at the CARD/1 stand and at our partner BricsCAD®’s stand. Over 2400 workstations are equipped with RZI Tiefbau. The software can be used from pre-planning right through to calculation of quantities, logging existing conditions, road planning and sewer planning. Visitors in Essen were given a preview of the new RZI Tiefbau Version 2014 and learnt about what’s new in the world of DTM, calculation of quantities and the dynamic swept turning path – with the brand new addition of tyre size input in order to display tyres correctly.
IB&T GmbH is soon to present its strengths once again – at BauScan, from 21st – 22nd November 2013 in Magdeburg. The conference offers both beginners and professionals an overview of the latest developments in terrestrial and mobile laser scanning. Project reports and presentations on software applications for point clouds are on the programme. IB&T has many years of experience in logging existing conditions using laser scanning and processing point clouds, and will be there to answer your questions.
