Waterways and Embankments

As a result of climate change, flooding is becoming more and more common. This is creating new challenges in the field of waterway and embankment planning. With CARD/1 you're all set for such waterway-related tasks.

CARD/1 is a versatile tool with which the geometry of rivers and embankments can be planned, the water surface levels calculated and the expected volumes determined. This includes virtual flood scenarios and planning the appropriate flood protection facilities.

For any waterway-related planning measures – be it straightening or renaturalization – you provide the initial data using CARD/1. You can construct profiles and cross-sections with the CARD/1 cross-section designer, which makes designing the necessary embankments and calculating the resulting volumes easy.

Any special requirements, especially the design of drawings, is taken care of.

• Initial survey and setting-out with the graphic fieldbook
• Digital terrain model, intelligent handling of break lines and voids, e.g. structures
• Flooding maps, maps to visualize chronological development of floods, catastrophe plans, land development plans, maps to determine flooded traffic routes
• Water level line calculation in CARD/1 is done with the company Hydroconsult's WASPI software.
• Calculation according to Gauckler-Manning-Strickler or as equivalent roughness k; distinguishing between sub-critical flow and super-critical flow
• The overflow conditions at bridges and outlets are calculated as gravity flows or pressure flows or as a combination of both
